Chair of the Board of Governors of International Business University Visited ECUST
Recently, Dr. Serdar Mutlu, Co-founder and Chair of the Board of Governors of International Business University (IBU) in Canada, visited ECUST to discuss advancing substantive collaboration in business education. He was received by ECUST Vice President Weihong Zhu.

During the meeting, Weihong Zhu reviewed the history of cooperation between the two institutions. He highlighted that the ECUST School of Business has earned the “Triple Crown” accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA) and followed the “iBEST” educational philosophy, which has promoted the deep integration of business, engineering, science, and technology. Noting that this philosophy aligns with IBU’s vision, Zhu hoped both institutions could leverage their respective strengths to broaden their partnership and further advance global business education.
In response, Dr. Mutlu expressed his gratitude for ECUST’s warm hospitality and thoughtful arrangements, speaking highly of ECUST’s achievements. He detailed IBU’s distinctive advantages and emphasized the institution’s eagerness to partner with ECUST on international education programs. The shared goal, he stated, is to cultivate high-quality business professionals with a global perspective and contribute to educational and people-to-people exchanges between China and Canada.
The talks yielded a preliminary consensus on expanding initiatives, including joint international multi-degree undergraduate programs and short-term student exchanges. Before the meeting, Dr. Mutlu toured the School of Business building and the College of International Education to gain a firsthand understanding of ECUST’s teaching facilities and educational environment.
The events were also attended by Yongsheng Li, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Deputy Director Zhonghua Deng, Xuejing Pan from the School of Business, and Xiaoman Shi from the College of International Education.
