Secretary of the CPC ECUST University Committee Chuanhai Jiang Met Cambodian Delegation to Advance Educational Ties and Serve Belt and Road Initiative

Recently, a delegation from the Kingdom of Cambodia visited ECUST. The delegation included Chring Botumrangsay, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia; KY Chanromdoul, Deputy Minister of Ministry of the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and NGUON Visoth, Consul General of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Shanghai. Chuanhai Jiang, the Secretary of the CPC ECUST University Committee met with the guests, accompanied by Vice President Haifeng Yan.

Chuanhai Jiang welcomed the guests, emphasizing that this visit embodied the practical implementation of the China-Cambodia consensus on building a new era of a community with a shared future. He highlighted ECUST’s commitment to open education, alignment with the Belt and Road Initiative, and achievements in genetically engineered live fish vaccines, regional economic cooperation, and cross-border trade, all of which directly support the building of “Fish and Rice Corridor” and “Industrial Development Corridor” in Cambodia. 

Future collaboration will focus on joint vaccine R&D, aquaculture technology promotion, international trade rule alignment, and nurturing high-level talents to integrate education, talent development, innovation, and industrial chains.

Chring Botumrangsay expressed gratitude for ECUST’s hospitality, praising its research strength and educational achievements. She noted that under the “Diamond Hexagon” bilateral cooperation framework, Cambodia-China relations are deepening, and ECUST’s strengths align with modern agriculture goals of Cambodia. In the future, both sides aim to strengthen joint talent cultivation, scientific innovation, and academic exchanges to advance educational and technological cooperation, supporting high-quality socioeconomic development in both nations.

Following the meeting, Haifeng Yan chaired a cooperation forum. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on agricultural international cooperation, agri-product trade, and agricultural technology, agreeing to leverage this dialogue to advance strategic alignment and implement high-quality collaborative projects.
